Dr. Ashisha Kallukaran

Dr. Ashisha Kallukaran (Dr. Ash) is a Brisbane-based dual specialist in Paediatric Immunology and Allergy as well as General Paediatrics.

Being a dual specialist, she enjoys all aspects of paediatric care and provides expert, practical, collaborative care for children of all ages. She has a particular interest in supporting families as they adjust to challenges of a newborn, navigate through general paediatric issues and management of children with complex needs. Respecting the knowledge and experience of parents and carers, who know their child best, she prioritises working together with parents, carers, and all health professionals, to achieve the best outcomes for the children she sees.

Dr. Ash provides care for all forms of allergy, such as food, drugs, environmental, eczema, asthma, and allergic rhinitis. She performs diagnostic skin prick testing, intradermal testing, food challenges, and immunotherapy for allergic rhinitis. She also manages immune system disorders including immunodeficiency, autoinflammatory disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis, angioedema, and chronic urticaria.

Dr. Ash was awarded her fellowship in 2021 by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Paediatric Immunology and Allergy as well as General Paediatrics after completing her specialist training through the Sydney Children’s and Queensland Children’s hospital networks. She completed her basic degree in Medicine in Mumbai in 2004, after which she moved to Australia to complete a Master of Medicine at the University of Sydney in 2007.

Dr. Ash has presented at Allergy conferences in Australia and has been part of multiple food allergy research projects. She is actively involved in educating general practitioners, and has presented at several Paediatric updates. She has written popular articles and blogs on child health. She is a member of ASCIA (Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy) and TAPID collaboration (Transplantation and Primary Immunodeficiency). She is also an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland.

She employs evidence-based medicine to develop management plans for her patients and works with the whole family to improve their confidence in managing their child’s symptoms.

She is currently working in private practice and as a visiting General Paediatrician at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

As a mother of two young children, she is attuned to family concerns which helps her deliver more empathetic and sensitive care. Outside of work, she enjoys time with the family and her fur baby.

Dr. Babitha Pulikkathody

MBBS, DCH, FRACP

General Paediatrician


Dr. Babitha Pulikkathody (Dr. Babitha) is a dedicated General Paediatrician known for her holistic approach to providing compassionate care to children and families. She honed her expertise by completing a Diploma in Child Health from South Australia and obtained her Fellowship in General Paediatrics from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). She holds a medical degree (MBBS) from Calicut University, India.

Drawing from her extensive experience at Queensland Children’s Hospital, Dr. Babitha is adept at delivering evidence-based care to children with complex health conditions including developmental & behavioural concerns. She also completed Neonatology training at Mater Mother’s Hospital in South Brisbane, enhancing her skills in neonatal and infant care.

Dr. Babitha establishes strong connections with her patients. As a caring mother of two residing in Brisbane, she is dedicated to providing exceptional paediatric care with warmth and empathy.

With a career in Paediatric nursing for 18 years with a specific interest in education, research and Immunology Anneke is passionate about providing her patients and families with evidence-based patient centred nursing care to enable patients of PAEDIX to feel empowered to be a part of their decision making and understand their care options.

Anneke brings a great deal of Paediatric nursing experience to PAEDIX from general medical to critical care nursing, She has experience in Food & Drug challenges, Intradermal testing, Subcutaneous Immunotherapy, Skin Prick Testing as well as general paediatric advice and support for patients and their families.

Having three children of her own, Anneke understands first hand many of the concerns of patients and their families.
